What we collect and why

Who we share it with
We share personal data only where needed to carry out an instruction or to meet a legal duty. That means the client on whose behalf we act; solicitors, valuers, lenders, surveyors and other professionals engaged on a transaction; our own professional advisers; the IT and hosting providers who process data on our instructions; and regulators, including the Property Services Regulatory Authority, the Revenue Commissioners, An Garda Síochána and the Financial Intelligence Unit, where the law requires it. We do not sell personal data.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Some of our service providers process data in the United Kingdom, which the European Commission has recognised as providing adequate protection, or in the United States under standard contractual clauses approved by the Commission. Details of the safeguards in place are available on request.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to an instruction: up to two years from our last contact with you.
- Client and transaction files: seven years from the end of the instruction, in line with our obligations under company and tax law.
- Identity and source-of-funds records: five years from the end of the business relationship or the transaction, as required by anti-money laundering law, and longer only where a regulator requires it.
- Server logs: as set by our hosting provider, ordinarily no more than a few weeks.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, and to have inaccurate data corrected or erased where there is no longer a lawful reason to keep it. You may also restrict or object to processing that relies on our legitimate interests, and receive the data you provided to us in a portable form. To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]. We will respond within one month. Cookies
This website does not set cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking. Any cookie set by our hosting provider is strictly necessary for security and for delivering the site. If we introduce analytics in future we will update this notice and ask for your consent first.
Security
Personal data is held on systems protected by access controls and encryption in transit. Identity documents collected for anti-money laundering purposes are held separately from general correspondence and are accessible only to the partners and staff who need them.

We review this notice at least once a year and whenever our processing changes. The date of the last review is shown at the top of the page.
